ummmm when I was in Yemen .. every thing was an obstacle
coz there was no such thing encouraging me to learn English .. specially i was not practicing anything at all
what's more( i think u will find it funny) is that my English teacher in Grade 9 used to teach English in Arabic

i mean he talks in arabic translate in Arabic EVREYTHING WAS IN ARABIC
Really it was not worth it lol..

However* after i traveled away .. at the first few months it was very hard ..
because I lived with a host family .. and i only had to speak English and nothing but English !!

at first it was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT
but it really helped ..

sorry i wrote alot lol

Well said sis
about ur teacher she was not completely wrong. However* there many are techniques and approaches to teach Languages.
Your teacher was obviously using an old Method called ( Grammar Translation method) . It's a method for teaching but as you said it is worthless.

I have my mother tongue and English. In the near future I going to study French. to be more specific I will start next semester. and I will got it Insh Allah.

If I were you* I leave Spanish behind . I will learn French because Canada is almost divided into two countries. (; and French is L2 ( Second language there.

English and French are the offical languages in Canada
French is not a second language..
and i am actually planning to learn French with my friend in year 2 .. donno how things will go..
i really wanna learn French .. coz it has been my dream since i was lil girl ^_^

in 1998 Canada made a referendum. This referendum was suggested by French-Canadian people. They support dividing CANADA into two countries because they are claimed they are the majority. They wanted their own country . However* the result was 52% of Canada citizens were against and 48% were with. So* as reaction of that serious result Canadian government started huge programs to attract immigrants to live in. It's really a scared result.
